Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright was born 17 February 1991. She is an actress, model and director from England. The most well-known part of her career is the role of Ginny Weasley who is the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the role for 10 years, until she was chosen to play the character as the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). After the series, Wright appeared in a variety of independent films including Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013) as well as After the Dark (2014); the films received mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut as the main character in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from the University of the Arts London in 2012 with an undergraduate degree in filmmaking. After graduating from University of the Arts in London in 2012, she started making short films with the production company BonBonLumiere. Her first film was directed by her that was a coming-of-age-drama Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at the Cannes Film Festival to great reviews. She also directed Know Thyself (2016), which starred Christian Coulson, and Sextant (2016) Both of which featured landscape and emotions as themes. Wright's trilogy, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) featuring Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright has been a spokesperson for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
