Melanie Jayne Lynskey
Melanie Jayne Lynskey, born on the 16th
of May, 1977 is a New Zealand actress. She is known for her humorous,
soft-spoken, but strong characters. She primarily works in independent films.
She has received an New Zealand Film Award as along with an Hollywood Film
Award as well as an Sundance Special Jury Award. Lynskey was a teen murderess,
who made her film debut in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures (1994). After
moving to the United States, Lynskey built her career as an supporting actor in
several smaller and large-budget movies including Ever After (1998), Detroit
Rock City, But... (both 1999), Coyote Ugly (2000) and Sweet Home Alabama (both
2002) Shattered Glass (2003), Flags of Our Fathers (2006) and Away We Go!, Up
