Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born September 5 1973) is an American actress and
activist. Following her debut film in a short role in the comedy Encino Man
(1992), McGowan received more attention for her role in the dark comedy The
Doom Generation (1995) and received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for
Best Debut Performance. McGowan's first film appearance was in the horror movie
Scream in the year 1996. In the following years, she was the lead actress in
Jawbreaker (1999), Devil in the Flesh (1998), and Going All the Way (1997).
McGowan was best known for her character in Charmed which was a
supernatural-themed drama series on the WB from 2001 to the year 2006. McGowan
was also a star in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film
Grindhouse (2007), for which she received nominations for the Saturn Award as
Best Actress as well as the Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. The album she
released her debut album on, Planet 9, was released in the year of 2018. It was
followed by a revamp of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was named one of the Silence
Breakers in 2017 by Time magazine. This award recognizes McGowan's advocacy for
sexual assault and harassment specifically in the context of Harvey Weinstein
cases of sexual assault as well as the Me Too movement. She's written an
autobiography, Brave, and starred in the documentary series Citizen Rose, which
consists of four parts. Citizen Rose, both in the year 2018.
