Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spikey blonde hair and pumped up personality reveals easy techniques to master and reduces the fear of eating at restaurants in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious eateries within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy, and battled in Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for managing restaurants when she received an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is where I spent the most fun time of my life. I just couldn't get enough pleasure from it. After graduating, Burrell spent one year learning in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she came to appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression from a culinary perspective. Burrell was the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to enhance living conditions for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of the dangers of childhood diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, she travels across the nation to talk about her love of food as well as her career in the culinary field. Through her culinary adventures, Anne has always said I feel very fortunate to share my passion in life with others.
